How to Use the Catalogue

Use One Search to find out what resources are available through the Library & Learning Centre. Select the "SAE/Qantm Catalogue" drop down menu to limit results to items in the physical collection.

Sign in to My Library Record to check loans and renew items.

Searching

To search for items in collections

  • Type your keyword/s into the search field
  • Click 'Search' or hit enter
  • Select from the menu on the left to limit results

Advanced Search

Narrow your search field and increase your search parameters in this search

  • Select from the dropdown list on the left - Keyword, Author, Title, Subject ...
  • Limit by material type - Books, DVDs, eBooks, Journal articles ...
  • Limit by location/campus
  • Sort by relevance, popularity, date, author or title

How do I find items on the shelf?

Select "Locations" in the item record to see the call number of the item, its location in the library. Most items are located in numerical/alphabetical order on the shelf. A letter in front of the number indicates a special collection:

  • Reference Collection (R) - dictionaries, handbooks, manuals
  • Reserve Collection - heavy demand items like core texts
  • CD Collection (CD)
  • DVD Collection (DVD)
  • Other collections - Journals (J), Biographies (B), Foreign Language (L), Australian Literature (A).

My Library Record

You must sign in to view information about your account.

  • Login - Portal Username or Student ID
  • Password will be Day and Month of Birth - ddmm

When signed in, you can view:

  • Loans and renew items
  • Requests
  • Fines or fees
  • Saved searches and alerts

Renewals

Sign in to My Library Record to check loans and renew items. For more information go to the renewals page.

Requests (Reservations)

If an item is already on loan to another borrower you can place that item on hold. Click "Locations" to find out availability, then 'Sign in to request'. If there is more than one location click the "+" to show these details. When the item is returned Library & Learning Centre staff will notify you and place the item in a special ‘holds’ area. You will receive email notification via your contact details held on the system.

Don’t forget to logout when you have finished.
